About This Work

The book is a foundational text in Islamic theology and Sufi philosophy. Written by the prominent scholar Burhan al-Din Ibrahim ibn Hasan al-Kurani, this work defends classical Sufi doctrines against accusations of unorthodoxy. It provides a methodical, scholarly clarification proving that true Sufi masters reject beliefs in bodily anthropomorphism (Tajsim), pantheistic identity (Ayniyya), unification (Ittihad), and divine indwelling (Hulul). This comprehensive edition, compiled and edited by Sheikh Ahmad Farid al-Mazidi, serves as an essential collection on the controversial concept of "Wahdat al-Wujud" (Unity of Being). It brings together the core text alongside four highly regarded supplementary treatises by classical scholars, offering readers a deep, multifaceted understanding of traditional Islamic metaphysics.
